How Many Keywords?

I have been trawling for an answer to how many keywords a page should have but cannot find any real answers.

Can anybody help?

Cheers!

To be honest, the whole importance of keywords in meta tags has subsided massively as Google will simpky analyse the page content and work them out for itself.

I would still suggest adding up to 7 keyphrases for other engines, but don't get hung up about it.

Concentrate more on titles, headers and content.

Internet Marketing

It is better to have a 2-3 % of keywords relating to your content which gives overall meaning of the page, this may help you to find better way to get traffic in Internet Marketing

The problem with focusing on keywords is that your content may suffer with overcrowding. You still need to be keyword rich, but the flow of the text needs to be natural and not too repetative.

Of course you do need to use keywords, they are vital, but you dont need to worry about it too much or you could go over the top.

Actually, I don't count the keywords that I used within the page. The most important thing for me is a content rich and at the same time can attract targeted visitors/reader.

I agree Jenie,

Make the content original and relevant and Google should do the rest...

It would be better to have 3-5% keyword density in your website content. According to my experience, I would recommend to have a combination of low and high competitive keywords.

Agreed - although I try and stick to a keyword density of 3%-7% for the main keywords I'm targetting on a page (who knows what the real figure is!)

Number of Keywords

There hasn't been any fixed number of keywords a page should have. But I generally keep my keyword density to around 5-7%.Relevancy of the keywords and key phrases is a must.

And also, remember not to stuff TOO MANY keywords in as Google will sees this as spam and penalise accordingly...
